Donating Books
The principal source of income of the Friends of the Library is the sale of donated books.
To donate books, please bring them to the main branch of the Los Altos library (see here for directions), and leave them in the "Donation Room" at the left end of the lobby as you enter.
New and gently used books on almost any subject are appreciated, and recent books are particularly welcome. We also appreciate audio or audio-visual recordings (video tapes, books on tape, and discs), jigsaw puzzles and games.
Donations are generally tax deductible, and receipts for tax purposes are available at the circulation desk at the main library.
Notes:
- To donate more than 5 boxes of books, please contact us to make delivery arrangements.
- Please do not leave very damaged books, Readers Digest condensed books, magazines, or outdated (older than 10 years) encyclopedias.
Donating Cash
Cash donations are always appreciated.
Donation checks should be made
payable to "Friends of the Library of Los Altos and Community",
